Formerly an independent competitor brand of the legendary Gibson, Epiphone was bought in 1957 by the American firm, determined to lead the electric guitars market.

For a long time relegated to the background as a simple sub-brand at low prices, the brand ended up winning the hearts of musicians, with twin models of the American originals, but at low budget thanks to Asian's manufacturing.
